The University of Sussex and the China Scholarship Council (CSC) are delighted to offer 5–10 three-year joint scholarships for outstanding PhD students and visiting scholars (for up to 12 months) from China. As part of the university’s support for Chinese students, the University of Sussex will cover tuition fees, and the CSC will provide a living allowance.

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) and the University of Sussex are offering 5-10 joint scholarships for outstanding PhD students and visiting scholars from China. The University of Sussex will cover tuition fees, and the CSC will provide a living allowance. This scholarship is available for a three-year PhD program or up to 12 months for visiting scholars.
All postgraduate research fields, with specific eligibility criteria for arts, humanities, social sciences, science, and engineering.

How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on academic qualifications, CSC’s eligibility criteria, and the ability to meet the university’s language requirements. Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their studies.

Applicants will need to complete the online Sussex PhD application form and a Sussex CSC Scholarship register of interest form by the deadline of 10 February 2025.
