The Digital Impact Alliance Fellowship Program offers mid-career researchers and practitioners the chance to explore key questions about digital public infrastructure (DPI) and data governance. Fellows can pursue their own research agendas while contributing to the program’s goals of enhancing the design, deployment, and governance of digital systems and data-sharing innovations. The fellowship focuses on three core priorities: creating value from data for more people, understanding the impact of digital systems on marginalized communities, and promoting data sharing and governance practices that foster innovation. The research period lasts 6-8 months, with fellows receiving a stipend of $5,000 USD. Applications are encouraged from professionals in academia, the private sector, and civil society.

Who can Apply For The Digital Impact Alliance Fellowship Program 2025?

Additionally, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • 8-15 years of experience in digital development, policy, or research Research Fellowship Application 
  • Demonstrated interest and work experience at the intersection of technology and society, focusing on topics including (but not limited to) digital public infrastructure and data governance A track record of producing high-quality writing, research, or policy briefs 
  • Experience working in or with global majority countries 
  • Strong analytical and communication skills

How are Applicants Selected?

The evaluation criteria is as follows:

  • The research proposal must effectively communicate the research ideas.
  • Candidates should have a strong understanding of relevant trends, stakeholders, and dynamics.
  • The ability to develop a clear, actionable plan with effective coordination and consistency throughout the project is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing high-quality reports, policy briefs, or research papers relevant to the project’s scope is necessary.
  • Preference will be given to individuals who believe in our values of creating a positive digital future, where data is leveraged for the benefit of people.
