EMMIR is a 2-year Erasmus Mundus master’s degree in Migration and Intercultural Relations run by a consortium of 9 partner institutions in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Who can Apply For The Erasmus Mundus EMMIR Scholarship?
Also, the eligibility criteria include:
- Applicants must hold a first degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a field related to migration studies (e.g. Social Sciences, History, Cultural Studies, Educational Sciences, Law, Economics, Development Studies, Journalism).
- The final grade of the first degree must be a minimum of C+ or equivalent, proven by certificates.
- Documentation of the final degree, including the final grade, must be provided by the deadline (a transcript showing all necessary exams is acceptable).
- Applicants must demonstrate knowledge in migration studies, intercultural relations, and empirical methods, supported by undergraduate modules, papers, essays, or exams.
- Preference is given to applicants with relevant professional experience.
- The last degree obtained should not be older than 5 years; if it is, the applicant must explain why they are returning to university in their statement of purpose.
- EMMIR qualifies students for a Master’s degree; applicants who already hold a Master’s must justify their reason for pursuing another one.
- Applicants who have previously received an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master (EMJM) scholarship are ineligible for another.

The online application form requires the applicant to upload the following documents in PDF form:
- Clear copy of a valid passport
- CV
- Statement of Purpose, clarifying your motivation to study EMMIR (1 to 2 pages maximum)
- First university degree diploma and transcript and other relevant degrees*
- Documentation of language proficiency (certified true copies or originals; in case of IELTS: copy showing test ID #)
- Other relevant documentation

What is the Benefit of the Award?
- Additionally, scholarship awardees will benefit the following:
Erasmus+ Scholarship holders are selected based on merit.
- They receive a monthly scholarship of €1,400 for 24 months.
- Health insurance, university registration, and student service fees are covered.
- Scholarship holders are responsible for mobility costs (e.g., travel, visa, vaccinations, residence permit fees).
- Mobility costs must be covered by the monthly stipend according to the mandatory EMMIR mobility path.
- There are no additional payments for travel or installation.
How Long Will the Award Last?
24 months
How to Apply:
- Register on the eMundus platform
- Complete and submit the eMundus online application by 18 December 2024, 23:59 CET.
- Receive confirmation email upon successful submission.
- The EMMIR team evaluates applications, and notifications are sent starting in April 2025.
- If accepted, send certified hard copies of application documents within 10 calendar days of receiving notification.
