China Link Scholarship at Harbin Institute of Technology for International Students 2025

To deepen the academic friendship and mutual understanding between the Chinese and foreign young generations and to build a platform for the international exchanges and cooperation of young talents, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has established the China Link Scholarship Program for international students and faculty members hoping to engage in academic and research activities in China. Appendix 1 contains the details of the program introduction.

When is the Application Deadline:

There are four deadlines for nominating scholarship candidates: April 15, 2024; July 15, 2024; October 15, 2024; and January 15, 2025.

The China Link Scholarship Program aims to promote academic collaboration and mutual understanding between Chinese and international students and faculty. It provides opportunities for individuals to engage in academic and research activities in China, supported by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).

Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship from CSC during their stay in China, including tuition, on-campus accommodation, comprehensive medical insurance, and a monthly stipend (CNY 3,000 for general scholars; CNY 3,500 for senior scholars). 

Which Fields are Eligible?

All disciplines are eligible, except for Chinese language studies.

Type:

The scholarship is available for General Scholars (undergraduates or master’s students) and Senior Scholars (doctoral students or faculty members).

Applicants must:

1. Be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, have good moral character and academic excellence, and be in good health, both mentally and physically.

2. Be under 45 years of age when applying for general scholarships. 

   Be under 50 years of age when applying for senior scholars.

3. Be registered as a full-time student or employed as a full-time academic staff at the CSC’s foreign partner universities at the time of application and throughout their proposed stay in China. Appendix 2 lists the CSC’s foreign partner universities.

4. Have received either a pre-admission letter or an invitation letter issued by HIT. 

How are Applicants Selected?

Applicants are selected based on academic excellence, moral character, health status, and the receipt of either a pre-admission letter or an invitation from a host institution.

Which Countries Are Eligible?

Citizens of any country except China.

Where will the Award be Taken?

The award is tenable at various universities and institutions in China.

How Many Awards?

The number of awards is not specified.

What is the Benefit of the Award?

The award includes:

  • Full tuition coverage.

1. Passport Homepage: Applicant shall submit a clear scanned copy of his/her ordinary passport within validity.

2. Certificate of Highest Education: Please upload a school or employment letter from the current foreign university.

4. Study Plan: Personal Statement or Research Proposal in Chinese or English, at least 500 words.

5. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner: Applicants planning to stay in China for over six months must submit a photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form completed in English or Chinese. Applicants staying in China for less than six months could upload a personal health statement instead.

6. Non-criminal records report: Applicants planning to stay in China for more than six months must submit a photocopy of the non-criminal records report issued by the public authority at their current residency. Applicants staying in China for less than 6 months could upload a non-criminal records statement.

7. Pre-admission Letter: a pre-admission document or invitation letter issued by HIT (optional)

  1. Obtain a pre-admission letter or invitation from a host institution in China.
  2. Complete the online application through the Chinese Government Scholarship Information System.
  3. Upload the necessary documents, including passport, transcripts, study plan, and others as outlined in the application procedure.
