Global Press offers two-year topical reporting fellowships for women journalists. Our fellowships offer valuable experience reporting for Global Press through cross-border collaborations, revelatory investigations and ambitious explanatory news projects.

Who can Apply For the Global Press 2025 Shifting Fellowship for Women Journalists?
Also, to be eligible, ensure you meet the following criteria;
- Live full-time in one of the 15 coverage countries for the duration of the two-year fellowship
- Have at least five years of prior newsroom, reporting or related experience
- Have a track record of producing high-quality journalism
- Be fluent in English (news stories can be written in native language)
- Be passionate about visual storytelling and have an interest in developing photojournalism skills
- Have basic technology skills, access to regular internet access and experience using word processing and spreadsheet software
- Be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills

Required Documents:
Applicants are also to submit the following documents:
- A current resume
- A two-page (1,000 word) cover letter stating the gaps they see in coverage of how democracy is shifting in their country, and what role their journalism would play in filling those gaps.
- A portfolio of three (3) work samples with a brief explanation of an editor’s role in each.
- Three (3) photos they have taken either personally or professionally that demonstrate their photography experience.
