Applications are being accepted for the RESPECT PhD Scholarship at the University of Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the multidisciplinary Land Use for Net Zero project, which is financed by the UKRI and focuses on recovering damaged peatlands in the UK and is worth £4.5 million. You will be able to collaborate with an exceptional group of experts in tackling important issues concerning land use and climate change in this PhD role.

The RESPECT PhD Scholarship is part of the UKRI-funded Land Use for Net Zero project, focusing on peatland restoration and social capacities for transformation. The project aims to address the urgent need for peatland restoration to meet net zero commitments by exploring the motivations of landowners and agricultural communities.
Applicants from geography, law, ecology, or environmental studies are eligible.

Applicants with a good Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, who meet the Home student criteria and demonstrate an interest in the project.
Applicants will be assessed based on their academic qualifications, interest in the topic, and the documentation provided. Shortlisted candidates may be interviewed.
