The CAS-ANSO Scholarship, launched in 2019 by the Alliance of National and International Science Organizations (ANSO), supports young scientists globally, offering degree and non-degree programs. Each year, it funds 100-200 Master’s and 300 PhD students to study at top institutions like the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). In 2022, a special PhD sub-category, the ANSO-CAS-TWAS/UNESCO Scholarship, was introduced to prioritize applicants from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and women, selecting up to 40 students annually. Sponsored primarily by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) with contributions from TWAS and UNESCO, the scholarship fosters international scientific collaboration and capacity building.
