Newcastle University is pleased to offer 10 Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarships for outstanding international applicants who apply to commence full-time undergraduate studies.

The Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarships are offered by Newcastle University to support outstanding international students pursuing full-time undergraduate studies. It provides a £4,000 tuition fee reduction for the full duration of the degree program.

Which Fields are Eligible?

  • All undergraduate fields are eligible, except for a few specific courses which can be found in the VCGS UG Regulations (2025).

Who can Apply for the Newcastle University Vice Chancellors Global Undergraduate Scholarship?

To be considered for Vice-Chancellor’s Global Scholarships applicants must:

  • be assessed as international for fee purposes
  • hold an offer for an eligible undergraduate degree programme at the University’s Newcastle city centre campus for the 2025/26 academic year
  • already have or expect to receive a minimum of ABB at A level or equivalent

Applicants domiciled in the following countries are not eligible to apply for VCGS awards as the University offers specific schemes for these countries

  • Bahrain
  • South Africa, Kenya 
  • USA, Canada
  • China
  • Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea 
  • Brazil, Mexico, Peru
  • Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and UAE
  • India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka 
  • Nigeria
  • Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Sri Lanka
  • Any member state of the European Union 

Eligible candidates will be assessed according to evidence of academic ability, evidence of commitment to studies and quality of application.

    • Middle East: Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Turkey.
    • Europe: Any European Union member state.
