This scholarship offers partial or full tuition fee coverage and prioritizes students with high academic performance and a strong commitment to studying at Karlstad University. Applications for the scholarship are open from March 21 to April 6, 2025, and are only considered if the application fee is paid or if the applicant is exempt. Students from 41 specified countries are instead eligible for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships.

Furthermore, the eligibility criteria include:

  • Applicant must be a top academic student from a non-EU/EEA country (excluding Switzerland).
  • Applicants must be required to pay tuition fees at Karlstad University.
  • Applicant must pay the application fee or be exempt from it.
  • Application is not open to students from the specified 41 countries eligible for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarships.
  • Applicant should not have lived in Sweden for two or more years when the scholarship period begins.
  • Applicant should not have a Swedish permanent residence permit or work permit.
  • Applicant should not already hold a scholarship from the Swedish Institute or a Swedish university/college.
  • Applicant should not already hold a master’s degree from a Swedish institution.
