The Wadsworth African Fellowships, offered by the Wenner-Gren Foundation, provide financial support to African students pursuing a PhD in anthropology at South African universities. Who can Apply For The Wenner-Gren Wadsworth African Fellowship 2025?

Furthermore, the eligibility criteria include:

  • Applicants must be citizens and residents of an African country at the time of application.
  • Intended for students from underrepresented groups in anthropology and archaeology.
  • Applicants should have a pending application or admission at a South African university.
  • Applicants must not be past their first year of doctoral training at the chosen institution.
  • Must have both a host sponsor at the South African university and a home sponsor from their previous institution.
  • Applicants can only apply to one South African department or institution per funding season.
