New international students who are self-funded, have an offer to study at Cardiff University, and meet academic and English language requirements.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on academic achievements (minimum AAB at A-level or equivalent) and responses to specific questions in the application form about academic motivation, achievements, and contributions to Cardiff’s vision for sustainability.

Open to international students from all countries outside the UK.

Several half-fee scholarships.
What is the Benefit of the Award?
The scholarship provides a 50% tuition fee waiver for the duration of the eligible program.
How Long Will the Award Last?
The scholarship applies to full-time undergraduate study beginning in autumn 2025. For integrated Master’s programs, funding applies to the first three years only.
How to Apply for the Undergraduate International Excellence Scholarships:
The scholarships are open to new undergraduate international students starting an eligible programme in autumn 2025.
Students who hold an offer to study at Cardiff University on an eligible programme will be invited by email to complete an application form.
The application form will include the following questions, which must each be answered within a 200-word limit:
- What are your reasons for wanting to study at Cardiff University, on your chosen programme of study?
- Describe a significant achievement in your student life or in your working career to date, and explain the impact it had on other people or the organisation.
- How would you help spread the word about Cardiff University as a study destination?
