The University of Cambridge’s Yusuf Hamied Department of Chemistry, under the supervision of Dr. Alexander Forse, is offering two fully funded, 3.5-year PhD studentships aimed at advancing climate change mitigation technologies. These projects focus on two critical areas:
- enhancing supercapacitor energy storage devices through the development of highly disordered electrode materials,
- creating new, low-cost materials based on modified activated charcoal to capture atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Furthermore, this studentship supports practical and impactful research, equipping students to contribute significantly to the global drive for sustainable energy solutions and carbon reduction technologies.
