The Knight Science Journalism (KSJ) Academic-Year Fellowship at MIT is a prestigious program that offers 10 science journalists from around the world the opportunity to deepen their expertise in science, technology, and journalism. Over a period of nine months, fellows engage in academic learning, workshops, and self-directed projects at MIT and the greater Boston area. The fellowship is designed to empower science journalists to pursue specialized research, gain new technical skills, and explore cutting-edge topics through access to top universities, seminars, and field trips.

Who can Apply For The Knight Science Journalism Fellowship Program?

Also, the eligibility criteria include:

• Applicants must be full-time journalists, whether staff or freelance (part-time journalists are not eligible).
• Must have at least three consecutive years of experience covering science, health, technology, or environmental reporting.
• Eligible roles include reporters, writers, editors, producers, illustrators, filmmakers, or photojournalists across all media platforms.
• Applicants must not have completed a fellowship lasting four months or longer in the two years prior to applying.

• Professional autobiography (500 words or less).
