Tell Me About The Open Society Fellowship For Lagos-based thinkers 2025:
The Open Society Fellowship by Open Society Foundations seeks bold thinkers from Lagos to propose ambitious and original projects that address pressing global issues like human rights, social justice, climate change, and inequality. Since its inception in 2008, the fellowship has supported global intellectuals and cultural producers to amplify their voices and influence global conversations. Fellows receive financial and professional support to advance their work and engage with international experts.
Moreover, there will be a total of 28 fellows from seven major cities in the world: Beirut, Lebanon; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania; Jakarta, Indonesia; Lagos, Nigeria; and Taipei, Taiwan. Four fellowships will be granted to residents of each city.

- Open to academics, journalists, documentarians, think-tank experts, playwrights, poets, architects, urban planners, novelists, visual artists, and other cultural practitioners.
- Applicants must propose an ambitious and original project.
