The One Young World Academy is a globally recognized online learning platform designed to empower young leaders to make an impact. In partnership with the Gates Foundation, we are launching a special series focused on critical global health issues. This series will explore how multifaceted approaches—combining innovation, advocacy, and partnerships—are essential to advancing global health outcomes.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s Global Health division aims to reduce health inequities by developing new tools and strategies to reduce the burden of infectious diseases and leading causes of child mortality in developing countries. This academy series will focus on four of the Foundation’s core global health programs: polio eradication, malaria eradication, family planning, and maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH).

Who can Apply?

• People aged 18 to 35.
• Working in the private or public sector, in politics or in activism. Originally from or living in one of the following eligible countries: Niger, Senegal, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire.
• Young leaders from the private and public sectors, political scenarios, civil society and activists interested in advancing global health in relation to malaria eradication, polio eradication, family planning or maternal, newborn and child health.

Share your work on the international stage
The top eight graduates of the Academy will receive a full scholarship to attend the One Young World 2025 Summit in Munich, alongside over 2,000 delegates from over 190 countries.

At the end of the series, you will be invited to submit a video or essay covering one of the themes from the four sessions. Eight winners will be selected based on their submissions and will receive full funding to attend the One Young World Summit 2025 , in addition to a year-long learning and development program consisting of the One Young World Global Leadership Program and Action Accelerator .
