The Rotary Foundation (TRF) and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education have formed a strategic partnership to address the global water and sanitation crisis by supporting the education of skilled professionals. Through the Rotary Water Scholarships, graduate students pursuing MSc studies in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft in the Netherlands receive financial and professional support. Since its inception in 2012, over 165 scholarships have been awarded, fostering long-term partnerships between Rotarians and water and sanitation professionals in developing and emerging countries.

Who can Apply For the Rotary Scholarships 2025 for Professionals From Developing Countries to Study in the Netherlands?

Also, the eligible criteria include: 

  • Applicants must be admitted to one of the Delft-based Master of Science tracks in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft.
  • Eligible tracks are Water & Health, Water Hazards, Risks & Climate, Water Resources & Ecosystems Health, and Water, Food, and Energy. Joint programs are not eligible.
  • Applicants must have a strong academic background and significant professional experience in water and sanitation.
  • Candidates should demonstrate leadership skills and the potential to make a significant positive impact on water and sanitation issues.
  • Applicants must commit to returning to their home country after completing the program.
  • Rotarians, their spouses, lineal descendants, or employees of Rotary entities are not eligible.

  • Use Rotaryโ€™s Club Finder tool to locate a Rotary club or district near your residence or workplace.
  • Contact the chosen Rotary club and request to attend a meeting to introduce the scholarship program and seek sponsorship.
  • Complete the scholar candidate portion of the application form and attach:
  • A copy of your rรฉsumรฉ or CV.
  • Your IHE Delft admission letter.
  • Submit the application and supporting documents to your local Rotary club or district by email no later than April 15, 2025.
