Who can Apply For The Funza Lushaka Bursary Program?
Also, to be eligible for the bursary program, ensure you meet the following criteria:
- Applicants must be South African citizens with a valid South African ID number.
- Candidates must be 30 years or younger.
- Applicants must demonstrate good academic ability.
- Applicants must be accepted into an approved B.Ed. or PGCE programme specialising in two or more priority subject areas.
- The bursary does not fund extended programmes or students already holding a teaching qualification.
- Higher Education Institution employees, their spouses, and their dependents are not eligible.
- Applicants with a criminal record, misconduct charges, or dismissal from work are ineligible

- Valid South African ID document.
- Proof of admission to an approved B.Ed. or PGCE programme.
