The Sony Future Filmmaker Awards aim to elevate emerging and independent filmmakers from around the world by showcasing original voices and fresh perspectives in storytelling. This global competition includes four categories: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Animation, and Student. Shortlisted filmmakers are invited to Los Angeles for a four-day exclusive workshop at Sony Pictures Studios, followed by an awards ceremony, offering unparalleled insights into the filmmaking process. Winners also receive prestigious prizes, including cash awards, certificates, trophies, and high-end Sony camera equipment.

Who can Apply For The Sony Future Filmmakers Sustainability Prize?
Also, the eligibility criteria include:
- Videos can be shot on any kind of device or camera*
- The length of your video must be the same as stated in the category description
- One submission per person per category
- Please make sure your submission is in English (or includes English subtitles)
- Audio is delivered as mono/stereo and not 5.1 surround sound
- You must own full copyright of your entry
- Entries can be produced from January 1 2023 to December 12 2024
- Please refer to category descriptions for specific entry requirements
Required Document:
The applicants are to submit the following documents:
- A description of the submitted project.
- A link to the short film on an online screener (e.g., Vimeo or YouTube) in 1080p ProRes HQ MOV format.
- A project JPEG image between 1–5MB in size, set to sRGB color mode.
- For shortlisted films: high-resolution film version, clean audio files, subtitle files, separated graphics, a trailer, high-res stills, film poster, portrait, synopsis, biography, and crew list.
