Which Fields are Eligible?
The award focuses on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, social cohesion, and promotion of Commonwealth values, particularly through faith-based approaches.

Who Can Apply?

A living, distinguished individual who:

  • Is a Commonwealth citizen aged over 30.
  • Has a substantial and impactful track record of peacebuilding in Commonwealth societies.
  • Promotes Commonwealth values, including tolerance, respect, diversity, and religious freedom.
  • Employs principles of faith and the Commonwealth Charter to build sustainable peace.

How Are Applicants Selected?

  • Nominations are reviewed by a Commonwealth Peace Prize Committee, which creates a shortlist.
  • A high-level panel of judges evaluates the shortlist and selects the winner in February 2025.
  • The winner is announced by the Commonwealth Secretary-General during Commonwealth Week in 2025.

  2. Only Commonwealth member governments (via High Commissions or accredited officials) and Heads of Commonwealth Accredited Organizations can submit nominations.
