• Is a Commonwealth citizen aged over 30.
• Has a substantial and impactful track record of peacebuilding in Commonwealth societies.
• Promotes Commonwealth values, including tolerance, respect, diversity, and religious freedom.
• Employs principles of faith and the Commonwealth Charter to build sustainable peace.

How Are Applicants Selected?

• Nominations are reviewed by a Commonwealth Peace Prize Committee, which creates a shortlist.
• A high-level panel of judges evaluates the shortlist and selects the winner in February 2025.
• The winner is announced by the Commonwealth Secretary-General during Commonwealth Week in 2025.

Which Countries Are Eligible?
Citizens of all Commonwealth member countries are eligible.

Where Will the Award be Taken?
The prize will be presented during Commonwealth Week at a special ceremony.

One prize is awarded.

• A citation and a letter of award.
• A financial grant of £50,000 to support ongoing peace-building efforts.

How Long Will the Award Last?

The recognition and award are one-time but may lead to participation in related activities within the Commonwealth Faith Festival.

How to Apply:

1. Nominations open on 21 September 2024 (International Peace Day) and close on 17 January 2025.
2. Only Commonwealth member governments (via High Commissions or accredited officials) and Heads of Commonwealth Accredited Organizations can submit nominations.
3. Submit nominations via email to PeacePrize@commonwealth.int.
4. Include an official letter of recommendation and an impact biography demonstrating how the nominee meets the criteria.
