The Carr Center Fellowship 2025โ€“2026 is an academic affiliation offered by the Carr Center for Human Rights Policy at Harvard Kennedy School. Open to scholars, practitioners, and human rights defenders, the fellowship provides an opportunity to engage in research, writing, and knowledge-sharing activities aligned with the Carr Center’s priorities. Fellows participate in a vibrant academic environment through collaboration, study groups, and interactions with faculty and other experts. The fellowship is unpaid and non-residential, running for one academic year from September 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

Applicants can be emerging or established scholars and practitioners.

Research and practice must align with the Carr Centerโ€™s priorities.

Applicants are to submit the following:

  • Resume or CV.
  • Research proposal (up to 3 pages) outlining alignment with Carr Center priorities and qualifications.
  • Executive summary of the proposal (up to 200 words).
  • Contact information for two references who may be contacted for recommendations.
  • Relevant writing sample (up to 10 pages).
  • List of prior publications or professional deliverables (with links or up to three attachments).
