The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) Program 2025 is a two-week academic enrichment program for outstanding high school students from around the world. Students participate in interdisciplinary sessions aligned with their academic interests, while building a global network on Yale University’s historic campus. Who Can Apply for the Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS)?
Eligibility criteria:
- Must be 16–18 years old by July 20, 2025.
- Current high school sophomore or junior (or international equivalent).
- Must graduate in May/June 2026 or 2027 (Northern Hemisphere) or Nov./Dec. 2025 or 2026 (Southern Hemisphere).
- Must be fluent in English.
- First-time YYGS participants only (those who applied but did not attend are eligible to reapply).
How Are Applicants Selected?
Applications are reviewed holistically, focusing on:
- Academic potential and intellectual curiosity.
- Extracurricular involvement and leadership.
- Responses to essays and short questions.
Which Countries Are Eligible?
YYGS accepts applications from all countries worldwide.
Where Will the Award be Taken?
Sessions will take place at Yale University, New Haven, Connecticut, USA.
How Many Awards?
Limited spots are available for each session. Scholarships are provided based on financial need.

- Activities list.
- One essay (400 words) and one short response (200 words).
- Two “fast take” responses (280 characters each).
- Official school transcript.
- One recommendation form.
- Application fee ($75 for Early Action, $90 for Regular Decision).
- Optional: English fluency test scores and need-based financial aid.
