The Public Diplomacy Section at the United States Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria, is announcing an open competition for organizations to apply for a project aimed at promoting U.S. higher education opportunities for high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

The US Embassy Education Grant Opportunity 2025 is designed to promote U.S. higher education opportunities for high-achieving, low-income Nigerian students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The program supports students through financial assistance for application-related costs, including standardized test fees, visa expenses, airfare, and settling-in costs.
The implementing partner will work in coordination with the education specialists of the Public Diplomacy Section of the United States Mission in Nigeria, in Abuja and Lagos, to support the 2025-26 Education Advising in Nigeria, especially the EducationUSA Opportunity Funds Program, and support the Standard Advising Centers in Calabar, Jos, Ibadan, and Kano.
This program will mostly assist forty (40) high-achieving, low-income prospective students.
The grant supports initiatives related to education advising and academic exchange programs.
