Tell Me About The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Program:

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) 2025 is a U.S. Department of State initiative aimed at advancing economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Cameroon. It seeks to support gender equity by equipping women with the necessary knowledge, networks, and resources to launch and expand their businesses. The program will provide six months of training, focusing on improving product quality, export compliance, and strategies for entering U.S. markets. The program will culminate in an “AWE Alumni Trade Show and Export Forum” to showcase women-led businesses.

Who can Apply for the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Program?

Also, the following criteria are necessary:

  • Registered non-profit organizations, think tanks, community associations, civil society organizations, and non-governmental organizations.
  • Former participants in U.S. government exchange programs.
  • Non-profit media organizations, professional and commercial organizations, non-profit or government educational institutions, and private educational institutions.
  • For-profit or commercial entities are not eligible.
  • Organizations must have a Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) from SAM.gov.
  • Must adhere to equal employment opportunity and non-discrimination practices.

The following documents are also necessary:

  • SF-424 (Application for Federal Assistance – Organizations).
  • SF-424A (Budget Information for Non-Construction Programs).
  • SF-424B (Insurance for Non-Construction Programs) if required.
  • Proposal (maximum 15 pages).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV) of key personnel.
  • Letters of support from program partners.
  • If applicable, the most recent Negotiated Indirect Cost Rate Agreement (NICRA).
  • Official authorization letters, if required.
