One scholarship is awarded each year to the top international student. It is valued at $42,500 and includes a summer research assistantship position, mentorship by one of the university’s leading professors, and guaranteed first-choice preference for residence for the first year of study (the residence deposit must be made by the residence deposit deadline date).

Students with an outstanding academic record who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities, who have demonstrated innovative and unique approaches to implementing change and/or bringing about improvements to life,ย and who demonstrate the greatest potential to beย future leaders are invited to apply.

Who can apply for the Dr. Franco Vaccarino President Scholarship?

Applicants must:

  • Be entering their first semester of any undergraduate degree program at the University of Guelph.
  • Be an international (VISA) student.
  • Have not previously attended a postsecondary institution.
  • Hold an admissions average equivalent to at least 90.0% in a Canadian curriculum.
  • Demonstrate significant leadership contributions to their school and community.
    Note: Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada are not eligible.
