Who Can Apply?

Prospective full-time PhD students who:

• Hold or are likely to attain a first-class honours degree (or equivalent).
• Have a formal offer to study a PhD at the University of Liverpool.
• Are prepared to attend events organised by the Duncan Norman Charitable Trust in Liverpool.
• Have applied for alternate postgraduate funding, with this scholarship acting as a top-up if secured.

Ineligible candidates include:

• MRes students.
• Students at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine or based at XJTLU.
• Currently registered University of Liverpool MPhil/PhD or off-site students.

Applications are reviewed by the University’s Scholarship Awarding Committee, which evaluates academic excellence, efforts to secure alternate funding, and eligibility criteria compliance.
