The Road to Research Scholarship is for international onshore applicants who are eligible to commence the Macquarie Master of Research (MRes) in Sydney, Australia in Session 2 2025.
This scholarship supports students undertaking short research projects of the Master of Research (MRes).

The International Road to Research Scholarship (iR2R) is offered by Macquarie University, Sydney, to support international students undertaking short research projects as part of the Master of Research (MRes) program.
The scholarship is open to all disciplines offered at Macquarie University.

International onshore applicants who:
Applicants are ranked based on academic merit, such as Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or Grade Point Average (GPA). Overseas qualifications are assessed against Australian Government guidelines.
The scholarship is available to international students from all countries, except Australian/New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.

The number of awards is subject to availability and is determined by Macquarie University.
How Long Will the Award Last?
Applications must be submitted online through Macquarie University’s scholarship portal.
Online applications for a July 2025 commencement (Session 2 2025) will open on 15 January 2025 (AEDT) and close on 30 April 2025 (AEST).
We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible before the deadline.
Outcomes will be issued in early June 2025. If you do not receive an outcome notification by 1 July 2025, please consider your application as unsuccessful.
