The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at INSAIT offers a unique opportunity for motivated undergraduate students from around the world to immerse themselves in cutting-edge research during the summer. Who can Apply for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship?
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at an accredited university.
- Be pursuing a major in a STEM field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering).
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or its equivalent in their university’s grading system.
- Be available to reside in Sofia, Bulgaria, for a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer.
- Applications from communities underrepresented in STEM are strongly encouraged.

How Long Will the Award Last?
