The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program at INSAIT offers a unique opportunity for motivated undergraduate students from around the world to immerse themselves in cutting-edge research during the summer. Modelled after renowned programs at MIT, Caltech, and ETH Zurich, SURF provides participants with mentorship from INSAIT faculty, hands-on project experience, and the chance to co-author papers for prestigious computer science and AI conferences. Now in its third edition, the program continues to foster innovation and collaboration while helping students build their research skills and academic networks.

Who can Apply for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship?
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be undergraduate students currently enrolled in a Bachelorโs degree program at an accredited university.
- Be pursuing a major in a STEM field (e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering).
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) or its equivalent in their university’s grading system.
- Be available to reside in Sofia, Bulgaria, for a minimum of 8 weeks during the summer.
- Applications from communities underrepresented in STEM are strongly encouraged.

How Long Will the Award Last?
