Tell Me About The J-Pal Africa Internship Program :

J-PAL Africa offers paid internships for individuals interested in gaining experience in policy, research, and education & training teams. These internships are available in several locations across Africa, including Cape Town, Johannesburg, Accra, and Nairobi, or they can be remote depending on the needs of the team and the intern’s nationality. Interns will contribute to various projects focused on policy development, research in social areas, and educational outreach. There are multiple internships available, including positions focused on Education Policy, Digital Identification and Finance, Research, and Education & Training.

Who can Apply For The J-Pal Africa Internship Program?

Also, to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants should be pursuing or have completed a degree in Economics, Statistics, Development, or a related field, or be in the final year of study.
  • Preference will be given to those with completed MicroMasters courses in Data, Economics, and Policy Design with competitive grades.
  • Applicants must have a strong interest in social policy and development research.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills are required.
  • French language proficiency is a plus.
  • National of a Sub-Saharan African country.

How are Applicants Selected?

Applicants will be assessed based on their academic background, experience, and the strength of their application in demonstrating interest and skills relevant to the internship position. Successful candidates will be selected after interviews.
