Who can Apply for Stanford University Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship?
- Full-time undergraduate students (including community college transfer students) at accredited colleges/universities in the U.S. or its territories.
- International students studying in the U.S. on an F-1 visa and meeting additional criteria.
- U.S. domestic undocumented, DACAmented students, asylum seekers, and refugees.
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an interest in pursuing a Ph.D. in engineering.
How are Applicants Selected?
Applicants are evaluated through a holistic review process based on academic potential, research preparation, personal statements, and letters of recommendation.

- U.S. citizens, permanent residents, undocumented students, DACAmented students, asylum seekers, and refugees.
- International students (on an F-1 visa) studying in the U.S. or abroad who are first-generation and/or from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
