Tell Me About The University of Nevada Graduate Scholarship:

The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is offering an MS research assistantship in wildlife ecology, focusing on the survival of elk in Nevada. This project, in collaboration with the Nevada Department of Wildlife, aims to investigate the puzzling springtime mortality of elk in northern Nevada. The research will evaluate whether spring mortality is influenced by trace mineral deficiencies, novel diseases, space use, and landscape factors. The selected graduate research assistant will work at the Nevada Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit (NVCFWRU) and pursue a Master’s degree in either Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences or Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology. The assistant will conduct fieldwork, write a thesis, and publish at least one peer-reviewed journal article.
