Scholarships at the University of Reading 2025: More than £2 Million in Funding Is Available

In 2025, the University of Reading will provide more than £2 million in scholarships to master’s students, providing financial aid through reduced tuition and living expenses. These scholarships, which cover a broad range of postgraduate programs, are available to both UK and international students.

1. The £1.75 million University of Reading Excellence Scholarship

£1.75 million, a sizeable amount of the cash, goes to the University of Reading Excellence Scholarship. This prize is applicable to almost all master’s degrees and is open to students worldwide.

  • £10,000, £5,000, or £3,000 are available to international students (only at Henley Business School).

This scholarship does not require a separate application. Once a student receives an offer for a master’s program, they are immediately taken into consideration. July 1, 2025, is the cutoff date for receiving an offer and being eligible for this scholarship.

2. Alumni Master’s Scholarship (ten students will receive £3,000 each)

Ten £3,000 grants are available to former undergraduate students at the University of Reading through the Alumni Master’s Scholarship. This sum is paid as a contribution to living expenses.

Students who have completed at least 120 credits of undergraduate coursework at the university or who have studied abroad at Reading are eligible.

3. The £10,000 Climate Stripes Scholarship

The two £10,000 prizes offered by the Climate Stripes Scholarship, which was first offered in 2024, are divided between a £5,000 living grant and a £5,000 tuition price reduction.

A master’s degree offer from one of the following programs must be held by eligible students:

  • Applied Meteorology and Climate Master’s degree
  • MSc Oceans, Climate, and Atmosphere
  • Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Climate Change

4. Rotary Graduate Scholarship for International Students ($30,000 Award)

The Rotary Graduate Scholarship offers a $30,000 prize to students from low- and middle-income nations who are pursuing:

  • Master of Science in Environmental Management
  • MSc Environment, Development, and Climate

Timeline for Applications:

  • Start date: January 1, 2025
  • Date of closure: March 7, 2025.

5. The £4,000 total award for the SPCLS Centenary Bursary

The School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences (SPCLS) offers the SPCLS Centenary Bursary, which supports students from underrepresented groups in the UK.

This scholarship offers:

  • £2,000 cut in tuition fees
  • £2,000 living expenses bursary.

6. The Frank Palmer Award (10% Discount on Tuition)

The Frank Palmer Award provides a 10% tuition fee discount to students enrolled in Applied Linguistics and TESOL programs.

Students must possess an unconditional offer in order to be eligible by:

  • May 1, 2025, with a start date of September 2025
  • November 15, 2025, with a start date of February 2026.

7. Master of Architecture Scholarship (£2,000 Total Award)

Students enrolling in the Master of Architecture program can apply for a scholarship worth £1,000 per year for two years. This award is available to students who hold a First-Class Honours degree.

8. Bursary for Entomology (£1,000 Tuition Discount)

Students will automatically receive a £1,000 tuition fee reduction when they enroll in the MSc by Research Entomology program. No separate application is required.
