Also, to be eligible for the 2025 Kofi Annan NextGen Democracy Prize, nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Age: Nominees must be between 18 and 30 years old at the time of nomination.
- Nominations: Nominations must come from organizations.
- Nationality & Occupation: There are no restrictions based on nationality, gender, or occupation.

The selection committee will evaluate nominations based on the following criteria:

- A completed submission form.
- A cover letter of support (max 500 words).
- A short video testimony from the nominee (max 2 minutes, can be shot on a smartphone).
