The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP) Nonresident Fellowship Program is designed to support advocates, researchers, journalists, and lawyers whose work aligns with TIMEP’s mission of fostering transparent, accountable, and just societies. The fellowship provides a platform for professionals from or connected to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region to produce solutions-oriented analysis, engage in policy discussions, and participate in a vibrant network of experts.

The program allows fellows to work on a specific mandate throughout the fellowship year, covering a proposed topic and geographic focus. Who can Apply For The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP) Non-Resident Fellowship?
Furthermore, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- At least five years of relevant work or academic experience in a field related to the proposed area of focus.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Demonstrated commitment to TIMEP’s mission and principles.
- Connectivity to civil society, grassroots groups, and/or experts and advocates on the ground.
- Preference will be given to candidates living or working in the MENA region.

- Egypt
- Sudan
- Syria
- Lebanon
However, proposals covering other countries in North Africa and the Levant are also welcome.
Where will the Award be Taken?
The fellowship is nonresident, meaning fellows can participate from their country of residence.
