The NUS Young Fellowship Program is a month-long initiative jointly organized by NUS Graduate School and NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education (SCALE). It aims to bring together talented young scholars from around the world to explore postgraduate research opportunities at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

  • Open to senior undergraduates (Year 3 or above) with outstanding academic records.
  • Applicants should demonstrate academic excellence, research potential, and leadership qualities.
  • The program seeks candidates from diverse personal and professional backgrounds who exhibit strong intellectual curiosity and a commitment to research.

How are Applicants Selected?

Applicants are selected based on:

  • Academic Excellence – Strong academic performance in their respective fields.
  • Diversity – A broad range of backgrounds and experiences.
  • High Achievers – Exceptional accomplishments beyond academics.

Application materials:

  • A detailed CV (maximum two A4 pages)
  • A personal statement or reflective essay (maximum 1,000 words) addressing either:
    • A research area of strong personal interest, including its anticipated development
    • A current social issue or concern of significant personal relevance, including individual insights on potential resolutions
  • Academic transcript (optional but highly recommended)
  • Two letters of recommendation (optional, but we strongly encourage applicants to provide recommendation letters from faculty members who can specifically attest to their academic/research potential for this program)
  • Passport-size photo

    Add New Programme → Select ‘Non-Degree Programme’; ‘Full-Time’; Enroll in ‘June 2025 Special Term’ → Click ‘View Programmes for application’ → Click ‘Apply Now’ for the ‘NUS Young Fellowship Programme’.
  • Step 2: Upload the necessary documents and complete the required sections.
  • Note: Programme and application are complimentary.
