The KZN EDTEA is currently offering internship opportunities in two key areas: Communications and Marketing, and Graphic Design/Visual Communication. Here are the available positions:

1. Office of the MEC: Communications and Marketing

  • Number of Interns: 2
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Degree or Diploma in Marketing.
    • Degree or Diploma in Public Relations and Media Studies.
  • Location: Ethekwini (Durban)

As part of this internship, you will assist in the development and implementation of communication strategies for the Office of the MEC. You will be involved in marketing campaigns, media relations, public engagement, and communication activities that contribute to raising awareness about the Department’s objectives and initiatives. 2. Corporate Services: Communications and Marketing

  • Number of Interns: 1
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design or Visual Communication.

How Are Applicants Selected?

Before applying for the KZN EDTEA Internship Programme, ensure that you meet the following requirements:

  1. Educational Qualifications:
    • Applicants must have a 3-year Degree or National Diploma in the relevant field (Marketing, Public Relations, Media Studies, Graphic Design, or Visual Communication).
    • The qualifications should be from a recognized South African University or University of Technology.
  2. Other Requirements:
    • Candidates must be South African citizens.
    • Applicants must not have participated in any previous government internship programmes (National/Provincial or Local Government Internships).
    • Those with foreign qualifications must provide an evaluation certificate from the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) confirming the equivalence of their qualifications.
    • Applicants should also attach an affidavit stating they have not benefited from any other government internship program before.
