The International Confucian Association Scholarship is launched by the International Confucian Association to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture, enhance cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and encourage mutual learning among different civilizations. Who can Apply for the Shandong University Scholarship?
Also, the eligibility criteria include:
- Applicants must be physically and mentally healthy, friendly to China, have no criminal record, and be non-Chinese citizens holding a valid regular foreign passport.
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, have excellent academic performance, and be under the age of 25.
- Applicants must meet the language requirements, which include passing the HSK Level 6 examination (minimum score of 180). Those who obtained their highest degree in an institution where Chinese was the primary language of instruction are exempt from providing an HSK certificate but must submit a letter of proof from their former school.
- The Chinese public security organ will conduct an end-entry administrative review to determine an applicant’s nationality based on the nationality determination process. If an applicant holds Chinese nationality at any point after applying, admission and study qualifications will be annulled.
- Applicants must also meet the additional requirements outlined in the 2025 Application Instructions for International Students (Master’s Programs) at Shandong University.

- Apply online through the SDU Online Application System for International Students: http://www.apply.sdu.edu.cn.
- Select the International Confucian Association Scholarship, complete the application information, and upload the required documents.
- Pay the application fee of 400 RMB after receiving the pre-admission email. The application fee is non-refundable.
- Scholarship recipients cannot hold multiple scholarships from different levels of government or institutions simultaneously. If found, the scholarship qualification will be revoked, and funds must be returned.
