The ‘Green Futures’ Postgraduate Taught Scholarship is offered by the University of Exeter for the 2025/26 academic year. It supports outstanding international students from Low and Lower Middle Income Countries who are committed to sustainability and environmental leadership.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
โ
Be classified as an International student for fee purposes
โ
Be a citizen/passport holder of a Low or Lower Middle Income Country (as listed in the World Bank classification)
โ
Already hold an offer to study an eligible Masterโs programme at the University of Exeter for September 2025 entry
โ
Have achieved, or expect to achieve, the equivalent of a UK First-Class undergraduate degree
โ
Have not previously studied or worked in a High-Income Country
How are Applicants Selected?
โ Applicants must submit a 500-word personal statement addressing:
- Interest in the chosen programme and its relevance to sustainability in their home country
- Previous contributions to sustainable initiatives
- Aspirations during and after studying at the University of Exeter
โ Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a virtual interview
โ Selection will be based on academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to sustainability

A personal statement (500 word maximum) is required as part of the form, responding to the following questions:
- What is your interest in your chosen programme of study and how is this relevant to a Green Future in your home country?
- How have you pursued this interest so far – as an individual and with others – in support of your home countryโs development efforts/sustainable initiatives and projects?
- What are you hoping to gain and to contribute during your study at the University of Exeter and how will a Green Futures Scholarship support this?
- What are your ambitions for after you graduate and how will you stay connected to the University of Exeter?ย
The deadline for applying for this scholarship is 30 April 2025. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to a virtual interview. Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their scholarship application by 16 June 2025.
