Tell Me About The LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Development Program:

The Youth Leadership Development Programme (YLDP) is designed to equip undergraduate students in Nigerian tertiary institutions with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary for nation-building, community development, and policy advocacy. LEAP Africa developed this initiative to bridge the gap in youth leadership by providing structured learning, mentorship, and practical experience. Participants engage in self-paced courses based on three key pillars: leadership, active citizenship, and sustainable community development. The program fosters peer-to-peer learning, enables youth to address national issues, and helps them implement impactful change projects with expert guidance and funding opportunities.

Who can Apply for the LEAP Africa Youth Leadership Development Program?

Also, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Be between 18-35 years of age.
• Be undergraduate students enrolled in a tertiary institution in Nigeria.
• Be available to participate in the program for the full 5-month period.
• Commit to at least 85% total participation throughout the program.
• Have a working mobile phone/personal computer and access to stable internet.
• Provide proof of studentship (such as a course form for the current session or a student ID card).
• Be open to travel at any stage of the program if required.
• Complete the 10 compulsory virtual courses before proceeding to track divisions.
