For the 2025 academic year, the University of Westminster has made its selection of undergraduate and graduate scholarships available. Students from a variety of backgrounds can receive financial aid through these British scholarships, which cover tuition costs and other advantages.

Postgraduate scholarships
1. Aziz Foundation Scholarship
Amount: Full tuition fee waiver up to a maximum of 1 year.
Deadline: 1st cycle closes on 4 April 2025.
This scholarship supports Muslim students from Black, Asian, and minority ethnic backgrounds at the University of Westminster. To qualify, you must be active in a Muslim community and demonstrate a deep understanding of issues affecting British Muslim communities.

2. Chevening Scholarship
Amount: Fully funded – see terms and conditions on Chevening website.
Deadline: Applications for a September 2025 course start are now closed. Please check the Chevening website from summer 2025 when applications for a September 2026 course start will open.
Chevening Scholarships are the UK government’s global scholarship programme for overseas fee-paying students. This fully-funded scholarship covers flights, accommodation and course fees to undertake a one-year Master’s course at any UK university.

3. GREAT Scholarship September 2025
Amount: £10,000
Deadline: 23 June 2025
GREAT Scholarships are jointly funded by the University of Westminster with the UK government’s GREAT Britain campaign and the British Council. We are offering one £10,000 scholarship towards tuition fees for a September 2025 one-year master’s programme to students from Thailand.

4. Home Postgraduate Part Fee Scholarship
Amount: £2,000
Deadline: 8 August 2025
One off £2,000 Tuition Fee Award paid directly to the University towards your tuition fees in your first semester. Students on two year postgraduate or Part time courses will receive the award for their first year only.

5. International Postgraduate Excellence Award September 2025
Amount: £3,000
Deadline: 2 June 2025
The International Postgraduate Excellence Award is designed to support international students who have achieved academic excellence and show passion for their chosen field of study. We’re offering scholarships for high-achieving international students, covering £3,000 towards your full time Master’s tuition fees.

6. International Sporting Excellence Award
Amount: £2,500 – £5,000
Deadline: 2 June 2025
The International Sporting Excellence Award is designed to support international students at undergraduate or postgraduate level who are performing or playing sport at an elite level or show strong evidence of future outstanding potential.

7. Sanctuary Scholarship
Amount: Full tuition fee waiver and £1000/month for up to 12 months
Deadline: 25 June 2025, Applications will open in January 2025
The University offers a number of Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarships to support students seeking asylum or with refugee status living in the United Kingdom who are not eligible to receive postgraduate financial support from Student Finance. It covers full tuition costs, plus a maintenance grant of £1,000 per month for up to 12 months.

8. Women in STEM British Council Scholarship
Amount: Full tuition fee, health and travel expenses covered.
Deadline: 30 April 2025
The Women in STEM British Council Scholarship empowers women from underrepresented backgrounds to pursue postgraduate education in STEM fields. It supports future leaders and innovators, aiming to reduce the global gender gap in STEM. This prestigious scholarship offers financial aid and fosters a network of talent.

Undergraduate scholarships
1. Foundation Degree Scholarship
Amount: £1,800
Deadline: 7 July 2025
To further our commitment of supporting Home students through their higher education experience, the University of Westminster has a number of scholarships available for students who will start an undergraduate course with an Integrated Foundation Year.

2. International School Undergraduate Excellence Award
Amount: £2,500
Deadline: 16 June 2025
The International School Excellence Award is available for undergraduate students who are currently studying or who have recently graduated from an International School based outside of the UK. Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and show passion for their chosen field of study.

4. Undergraduate Disability Scholarship
Amount: £2,500

The University of Westminster has a number of scholarships available for Home students if you have a documented disability. These scholarships will not take into account any other funding you may have from external sources.

The scholarship is provided to support Home students with their maintenance costs during their studies. The selection is made based on financial need and personal statement.
