Boston University (BU) welcomes approximately 20 outstanding students each year into the Trustee Scholars Program, one of the university’s most prestigious undergraduate scholarships. Trustee Scholars are not only academically exceptional many had a perfect 4.0 GPA and ranked at the top of their high school classes but also intellectually and creatively adventurous. These students demonstrate unique perspectives, achievements, and experiences beyond the ordinary. Scholars become part of a vibrant campus community with access to intellectual, cultural, and social opportunities.

Also, to be considered for the Trustee Scholarship, applicants must:
- Apply for admission to any undergraduate degree program at Boston University.
- Demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and creativity.
- Exhibit a well-rounded personality with a passion for learning and exploration.
How are Applicants Selected?
Applicants are selected based on:
- Academic excellence, including top grades and ranking among the highest in their class.
- Intellectual and creative curiosity, showcasing achievements beyond academics.

- An outstanding Trustee Scholarship essay, which demonstrates critical thinking and personal growth.

- Trustee Scholarship essay (600 words or less), choosing from one of the provided prompts:
- Prompt 1: Discuss a book, film, podcast, or life experience that has made you feel connected to your personal history/identity and what you learned from it.
- Prompt 2: Describe a time you stepped out of your comfort zone and created your own path. What motivated you, and how did it change your perspective?
