Tell Me About The Funded Traineeship at the EU Delegation to Namibia:

The EU Delegation to Namibia offers a funded traineeship for young graduates. The traineeship will be held within the Head of Political, Press, and Information Section starting in May 2025. This opportunity allows graduates to contribute to EU coordination meetings, draft political reports, and support media events while gaining insight into the diplomatic mission and its activities in Namibia.

  • Communication
  • Journalism and other related fields

Who can Apply for the Funded Traineeship at the EU Delegation to Namibia?

The application deadline include:

  • young graduates
  • have at least a Bachelor Diploma
  • maximum one year of professional experience
  • no previous experience in the EU Institutions longer than 6 weeks
  • Citizens from the EU Member States or from candidate countries which signed an accession agreement with the EU or citizens from the host country 

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • Young graduates with at least a bachelor Diploma (or equivalent) in Political Science, Africa Studies, Communication, Journalism or related
  • Strong analytical and drafting skills
  • Strong social media and digital communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Fluent spoken and written English 

Selection Criteria/How Are Applicants Selected

  • Selection will be based on the applicant’s qualifications, including analytical and drafting skills, as well as their ability to contribute to the work of the EU Delegation.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview.

  • Proof of financing (if applicable)

What is the Benefit of the Funded Traineeship at the EU Delegation to Namibia?

Additionally, the benefits include:

  • Selected trainees will receive a monthly grant, which is 25% of the salary for Local Agent Group I (with a ceiling of 1,200€), as outlined in Article 8.3 of Decision ADMIN(2017)28 and annex of Decision ADMIN(2019)2.
  • Traineeships paid by a university or other public institution may offer a grant with at least 25% of the salary for Local Agent Group I.
  • The trainee will be responsible for covering all travel, visa, insurance, and accommodation costs.

1 to 6 months
