Scholarships for research stays at Taiwanese universities are now available to students looking for a rewarding academic experience overseas. This scholarship program, which is supported by Austria’s Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research (BMBWF), helps diploma and master’s students who want to further their education in the fields of natural sciences, technical sciences, health sciences, agricultural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the arts.

Type:
Research and academic stay scholarship for diploma and master’s students.
Who can Apply?
- Austrian and EU citizens enrolled in an Austrian public university, private university, or university of applied sciences.
- Students who have completed at least one semester of the second phase of their diploma program or one semester of a master’s program.
- Those taking exams (minimum 5 ECTS credits in the final semester) or conducting research.
- No age limit, but intended for young researchers advancing their academic careers.
- The scholarship is awarded only once per applicant and cannot be extended.
How are Applicants Selected?
Selection is based on academic merit, research proposal quality, and recommendation letters from university lecturers. A written confirmation of supervision from a Taiwanese host institution is required.

Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) in English.
- Study or research plan (2-5 pages) explaining academic objectives and the choice of Taiwan.
- Two recommendation letters from university lecturers (dated, signed, stamped, and not older than six months).
- Confirmation of supervision from the Taiwanese host institution.
- Official academic transcripts and diplomas (translated into English).
- Artistic work samples (if applying in relevant fields like architecture, painting, sculpture, etc.).
