Tell Me About The EU Funded Traineeships For Young Graduates:

The European Union (EU) Delegation to Nigeria is offering funded traineeships for young graduates interested in international relations and diplomacy. This traineeship provides an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in a diplomatic mission, learning how the EU represents its interests and values in Nigeria. The program will take place within the Green and Digital Economy Section of the EU Delegation, which focuses on managing projects related to agriculture, climate, renewable energy, energy efficiency, circular economy, innovation, digitalization, youth employment, MSMEs, and investment.

Who can Apply For The EU Funded Traineeships For Young Graduates?

To be eligible, applicants are to meet the following criteria:

  • Citizens of Nigeria
  • Young graduates with at least a Bachelor Diploma (or equivalent)
  • Maximum one year of professional experience
  • No previous experience of more than six weeks in the EU Institutions

NOTE: Taking into account the local health and security conditions, applicants currently residing in Abuja – Nigeria will only be considered

What is the Benefit of the Award?

Additionally, the benefits include:

  • Selected trainees will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses.
  • The grant is financed by the European External Action Service (EEAS) and amounts to 25% of the salary of a Local Agent Group I, with a ceiling of €1,200 (as per Article 8.3 of Decision ADMIN(2017)28 and annex of Decision ADMIN(2019)2).
  • Additional funding may be provided through universities or other public institutions, covering at least 25% of the salary of a Local Agent Group I.
