The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Regional Media and Communications Officer to support media and communication strategies in the Southern Africa region. The role involves developing and implementing communication strategies, liaising with media and stakeholders, producing public information materials, and supporting awareness-raising campaigns on migration issues.

Media and Communications, Public Information, Journalism, or related fields.

Type:
Special Short-Term Graded Contract (Up to 9 months).

Who Can Apply?

  • Internal IOM candidates and former IOM employees.
  • Applicants from IOM non-represented member states are prioritized.
  • Professionals with a Masterโ€™s degree and two years of relevant experience OR a Bachelorโ€™s degree and four years of relevant experience.
  • Candidates with expertise in journalism, public information, migration, and experience in international organizations, particularly the UN system.

How are Applicants Selected?
Candidates will be evaluated based on their experience in media, public relations, migration-related communications, and their ability to develop outreach strategies. Strong writing, editing, and digital communication skills are required. Proficiency in English is mandatory, with French and/or Portuguese as an advantage.
