University of Gloucestershire in the UK Announces International Scholarships 2025 & Free Scholarship Webinar

The University of Gloucestershire is offering a variety of scholarships for international students enrolling in the September 2025 intake. These scholarships aim to make UK higher education more accessible and affordable.

Available Scholarships:

#1. Global scholarship

Scholarship details

Amount 

ยฃ1,500 tuition fee waiver deducted from the first yearโ€™s tuition fee at the point of offer.

Application deadline 

No application requiredโ€”this is an automatic tuition fee waiver.

Eligibility 

This is for new, self-funded international tuition fee students studying full-time for a minimum of 2 semesters:  

  • Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students must be on campus.
  • Postgraduate Research students can be distance learning or on campus.

Study levels eligible include:

  • Undergraduate 
  • Postgraduate taught 
  • Masters by Research 
  • Master of Research (MRes) 
  • PhD

#2. Undergraduate-taught merit scholarship

Scholarship details

This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or a strong creative portfolio or relevant work experience (where required). The value of the scholarship will be ยฃ7,500.

Amount 

ยฃ7,500 tuition fee waiver split over the three years of tuition fees.

Eligibility 

This is for new, self-funded, international, tuition-paying students studying full-time. Undergraduate-taught students must be studying on campus. The scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate-taught course starting in September 2025 and studied for a minimum of 3 years.

#3. Postgraduate taught merit scholarship

Scholarship details

This merit scholarship is a tuition fee waiver designed to reward academic excellence or a strong creative portfolio or relevant work experience (where required). The value of the scholarship will be ยฃ5,000.

Amount 

ยฃ5,000 tuition fee waiver deducted from the first yearโ€™s tuition fee.

30 April 2025

Eligibility 

This is for new, self-funded, international, tuition-paying students studying full-time. Postgraduate Taught students
must be studying on campus.  The scholarship applies to any postgraduate taught course (PhD/other doctoral qualifications/research Masterโ€™s degrees are not eligible for this award). I.E., a Professional MSc by Research starting in September 2025, studied for a minimum of 2 semesters.

#4. Sports Global Excellence scholarship

Scholarship details

The Sports Excellence Scholarship is aimed at high-performing student athletes who wish to combine high-performance sport alongside undergraduate or postgraduate taught study at the University of Gloucestershire. This is applied as a tuition fee waiver designed to reward sporting excellence. The Scholarships are open only to international fee-paying students. 

Applicants must be able to demonstrate they are performing at the required level in the performance sport. 

What youโ€™ll get in addition to the fee waiver:

Amount 

The value of the scholarship will be ยฃ7,500 (spread over the 3 years) for Undergraduate students and ยฃ5,000 for Postgraduate students.

This is for new, self-funded, international, tuition-paying students studying full-time. Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught students must be studying on campus. The scholarship is applicable to any undergraduate and postgraduate taught course starting in September 2025 and studied for a minimum of 2 semesters.

#5. Progression partner scholarship

Scholarship details

If a student wishes to transfer to an undergraduate program at the University of Gloucestershire from an overseas progression partner, the University will offer a Progression Partner Scholarship worth ยฃ5,000.

Amount 

ยฃ5,000 tuition fee waiver deducted from the first yearโ€™s tuition fee at the point of offer. 

Application deadline 

No application requiredโ€”this is an automatic tuition fee waiver.

Eligibility 

Students who wish to transfer to an agreed progression pathway from an overseas partner are eligible. 

International Scholarships Webinar:

To assist prospective students in understanding the available funding options and application processes, the university is hosting a free International Scholarships Webinar.

During the webinar, Holly Ford Chivers, Global Recruitment Support Officer at the University of Gloucestershire, along with international students who have received scholarships, will provide insights on eligibility, application procedures, and tips to strengthen your scholarship applications.

Key Notes for Applicants:

  • Scholarships are non-transferable and only valid for programs beginning in September 2025.
  • Available exclusively to new, full-time international students who are self-funding 100% of their tuition fees.
  • Applicants must meet entry requirements and may be required to undergo an interview.
  • Scholarship recipients may be asked to support university promotional activities such as blog writing, photography, and participation in recruitment events.
  • Scholarships cannot be combined with any other funding from the University of Gloucestershire.
  • Deferred applications are not eligible.
