Who can Apply for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Undergraduate Scholarships?

To be eligible for the University of Michigan-Dearborn Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be an international student
  • Hold a valid visa
  • Intend to enroll in a full-time undergraduate degree program at the university
  • Have an educational background equivalent to a GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0
  • Have an SAT combined score of at least 1020
  • Demonstrate English proficiency by providing one of the following:
    • MELAB 76
    • IELTS 6.5
    • TOEFL IBT 80, CBT 213, or PBT 550

  • Annual award of $12,500, totaling $50,000 over four years for students with a 4.0 GPA or higher or a Michigan address.
  • Annual award of $10,000, totaling $40,000 over four years for students with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.99.
  • Annual award of $7,500, totaling $30,000 over four years for students with a GPA of 3.25 to 3.49.
  • Annual award of $5,000, totaling $20,000 over four years for students with a GPA of 3.00 to 3.24.

How Long Will the Award Last?

The scholarship is renewable for up to 8 semesters for freshman students or 6 semesters for transfer students, or until the completion of the Bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
