The World Bank Legal Internship Program provides highly-motivated law students with an invaluable opportunity to gain exposure to the World Bank’s mission and the operations of its Legal Vice Presidency. This internship enables students to contribute fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and the latest research experience while enhancing their legal skills in a multicultural setting. Interns will work closely with staff, including senior management, and participate in high-profile events and conferences, making a significant impact on the Bank’s legal services.

This internship is open to students enrolled in legal academic programs, such as LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent.

Applicants must:

  • You must hold citizenship of an IBRD member state.
  • You must be enrolled in a law degree program (LLB, JD, LLM, SJD, PhD, or equivalent) at the time you would undertake the internship.
  • You must have an excellent command of the English language. Preference is given to candidates with a second language, particularly one of the working languages of IBRD (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).

Applicants will be selected through a competitive selection process. The World Bank is an equal opportunity employer, and the program encourages applications from eligible international as well as U.S.-based students.
