Tell Me About The Africa CDC Short-Term Bioinformatics Fellowship Program:
The Africa CDC, through its Pathogen Genomics Initiative (Africa PGI), is offering 100 fully funded fellowships aimed at building the bioinformatics and genomic surveillance capacity of public health professionals in African Union (AU) Member States. This short-term training program provides an opportunity for participants to learn how to analyze and interpret genomic data, which will enhance public health decision-making across Africa. The fellowship supports the development of a skilled workforce capable of contributing to Africaโs genomic future.

Who can Apply For The Africa CDC Short-Term Bioinformatics Fellowship Program?
The eligibility criteria include:
- Public health practitioners from national public health laboratories or affiliated institutions in AU Member States.
- Bachelorโs degree or higher in bioinformatics, molecular biology, or a related field.
- Must be below 35 years of age.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in bioinformatics and public health.
How are Applicants Selected?
Applicants will be selected based on their qualifications in relevant fields, demonstrated interest and experience in bioinformatics and public health, and their current position within national public health institutions or laboratories.
