Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants can choose from a wide range of majors, including:​
- Social Sciences & Humanities: Law, Politics, Literature, History, Sociology, Japanese Language, Pedagogy, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, Financial Economics.​
- Natural Sciences:
- Course A: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc.), Applied Chemistry, Biotechnology.​
- Course B: Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Biology.​
- Course C: Medicine and Dentistry.​

Fully Funded Undergraduate Scholarship.​
Who Can Apply?
Applicants must:​
- Be citizens of countries with diplomatic relations with Japan.​
- Be born on or after April 2, 2001.​
- Have completed or be scheduled to complete 12 years of formal education by March or August 2026.​
- Demonstrate sufficient proficiency in Japanese or English to pursue university-level education.​
- Be physically and mentally fit for study abroad.​
Selection Process
The selection involves:​
- First Screening: Conducted by Japanese Embassies or Consulates, including document review, written exams, and interviews.​
- Second Screening: Conducted by MEXT in Japan, based on the results of the first screening
- University Placement: MEXT consults with Japanese universities for direct placement based on the applicant’s preferences and qualifications.​

Scholarship Benefits
Recipients will receive:​
- Monthly allowance of ¥117,000, with potential regional adjustments.​
- Full tuition and enrollment fee waiver.​

Duration
- Direct Placement Students: 4 years (or 6 years for Medicine, Dentistry, or Pharmacy).​
- Students requiring preparatory education: 5 years total (or 7 years for long courses).​
